Recreational Sprint Distance Triathlon
The Recreational Sprint Distance Triathlon is fun for anyone wishing to compete in our event. It's a great course for beginners who want to try their first triathlon. It can be completed individually or in teams of 2 or 3 people. This event is for people ages 15 and up (kids ages 6 to 14 see the Kids Triathlon).

Swim: 400 meters (outdoor pool)
Bike: 12 miles
Run: 3 miles
Age Categories:
Open Class: anyone age 15 and up
Age 50 and over (you may still choose to compete in the Open Class)

Competitive Sprint Distance Triathlon
Are you looking for a little bit more of a challenge? This event takes place on the same course as the Recreational event, but we've added a little extra distance to challenge you a little bit further. The Competitive Sprint Distance Triathlon may only be done individually (no teams in this event) and is for people ages 15 and up (kids ages 6 to 14 see the Kids Triathlon).

Pre-Race Orientation - July 3rd - 7:00pm
City of Cortez Outdoor Pool
We will be hosting an optional pre-race orientation on July 3rd, 2013. It will take place at 7:00pm at the Outdoor Pool. Please feel free to stop by and get an overview of the race and ask any questions you may have. This orientation will not function as an early check-in - you will still need to check in prior to the race start July 4th. See instructions below. Swag bags will be given out at the finish line.
Race-Day Check-in - July 4th - 6:30am
Adult racers will need to check in at the gates to the Outdoor Pool at 6:30am on July 4th. Here you will receive your timing chip and number. Please be on time, as if you miss your scheduled heat, you will be moved to the end of the line.
